About this venue
The White Bear on Hall Gate is a historic Doncaster pub name that returned in 2026, more than 20 years after the building became the nightclub Flares (and briefly Flares & Reflex). Flares closed for good on Easter Sunday 2025 after 20+ years of trading; the site was refurbished and reopened as The White Bear, run by local owners. It currently operates as a keg-only disco venue, Tuesday-Saturday evenings, with cask ale not available. A jazz-themed lounge, Misty's, operates inside the building.
