Aladdin Kulturhus

Aladdin Kulturhus is the old cinema building of Kristiansand, now a culture house for film, theatre, music and events. The current building dates from 1983, after the original 1914 cinema was destroyed by fire in 1980, and it was zoned for preservation in 2015 so it can remain a cultural venue. About 15 resident artists and organisations work from the house, with Cinemateket, which screens films two to three times a week, as the largest tenant. The first floor has two halls for rent: Blå sal, with 172 seats, a 10 metre wide cinema screen and a large open floor in front suited to theatre and dance, and Røde sal, with 82 seats, a 6 metre cinema screen and very good acoustics for lectures, film screenings, simple performances and small concerts. Both halls have digital cinema projection and can connect to PC/Mac. The foyer houses a café and bar. Halls are rented out for single events and festivals; contact the venue for a quote or a tour.
