About this venue
Alexander Stadium is Birmingham City Council's athletics stadium on Walsall Road in Perry Barr, rebuilt for the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the largest athletics stadium in the United Kingdom. Its operator gives a permanent capacity of 18,000. It is the venue for the 2026 European Athletics Championships.
Beyond athletics the site is used for conferences and large-scale events, and carries meeting, conference and office facilities alongside the Perry Fitness Centre gym. It is operated on the council's behalf by MORE Leisure and Birmingham Community Leisure Trust.
