About this venue
Alexandra Head is an outdoor event area on the Cardiff Bay Barrage, managed by Cardiff Harbour Authority on behalf of Cardiff Council. The 1.2 million pound site was built by Balfour Beatty and opened ahead of the Volvo Ocean Race Cardiff Stopover, and was designed specifically to host large open-air events with views across Cardiff Bay.
It is used for concerts, festivals and major outdoor events, and is booked through the Harbour Authority rather than being open as a day-to-day venue.
