About this venue
Alles Kulturhus, run by Stiftelsen Ringerike Kultursenter, sits by the bridge in central Hønefoss and serves Ringerike, Hole and Jevnaker.
Byscenen is the main stage, a former cinema hall converted into a theatre and concert room seating 533 across stalls and balcony, with a stage of roughly 90 m². Amfiscenen, in the basement, was the old large hall: it has a flexible stage and a retractable amphitheatre of 88 seats, extended with loose chairs on the gallery and floor to around 350 depending on how much of the room the stage takes, or 150 for a banquet. Bassgarasjen, opened in 2017, is the club stage — 250 standing or about 140 seated, built so the artist stays the focus, and also used for rehearsals and dance. Alles Lille scene handles conferences, meetings and smaller concerts.
Beyond the stages the house hires out rehearsal rooms built for acoustic bands and solo musicians (Solheim, Viker, Smith and the larger Gundhus), two dance studios (Henschien and Studio Moe), the Busund and Krokstrand halls, a compact "rehearsal hotel" room, and three small meeting rooms — Kyllingstad, Svarstad and the video-conference-equipped Scharff. Backline and wireless microphone systems can be hired.
