About this venue
Alvesta Folkets Hus has been Alvesta's meeting place since 1953, a few minutes' walk from the railway station. Its rooms are rented for conferences, lectures, concerts, dances, theatre, film screenings, exhibitions and parties. Thalia is the cinema and stage hall with 280 chairs, stage lighting and sound, used for conferences, theatre, concerts and film. The Festsalen in the basement seats about 180 or holds 400 standing and has a 7 x 4 m stage, and the renovated 1950s-style café has a small 4 x 2 m stage for talks and cultural events. There are also smaller meeting and exhibition rooms, a library, a restaurant and Wi-Fi in all rooms, and a hearing loop in most of them. All rooms are adapted for people with disabilities. Local associations get 25% off the rent. Booking is by e-mail or by phone on weekdays 10-12.
