Apollon Tønsberg

Apollon Tønsberg opened on 25 June 2021 in Rådhusgaten, run by the team behind Apollon Platebar in Bergen — one of the oldest record shops still trading in Norway, in business since 1976. The Tønsberg branch follows the same formula: records for sale along one side, a bar along the other, and a stage for concerts. It opened with 26 tap lines and works without agreements with the major breweries, pouring craft beer from independents such as Haandbryggeriet and Kinn Bryggeri instead. The room programmes concerts and quiz nights year-round, with a booking calendar that runs from touring Norwegian rock — Øystein Greni of Bigbang played a sold-out solo show here — through to newer alternative and psych acts such as Exploding Head Syndrome, Auforia and Gravel Peak.
