Arts Club is a live music venue and nightclub at 90 Seel Street in Liverpool's Ropewalks, describing itself as "part Victorian Theatre, part Manhattan Loft Club". The building began as a social club in 1928 and has been a live-music room for most of the time since.
Academy Music Group ran it as East Village Arts Club until closing it in early 2023. Tokyo Industries redesigned the venue and reopened it in September 2023 with a show by The Wombats, and it now runs a busy programme of touring gigs and club nights.
There are three rooms, hireable singly or together for up to 1,400 standing. The Theatre is the main room - 700 standing for club nights, 520 plus 30 guests for live shows - with an 8 m by 3.5 m LED screen behind the stage, a balcony of three booths over the dancefloor, three fixed bars and a green room. The Loft upstairs takes 500 for club nights and 320 plus 30 for live shows, and has high ceilings, exposed brick, a circular lighting truss over the stage, a double green room behind it, a production office and a Turbo Sound PA. The Lobby bar is the smallest, at 200 club or 150 live, with a small stage and DJ riser, a full-length bar, wall and ceiling LED panels and its own Turbo Sound PA.
Step-free access to the Theatre is from Back Colquitt Street, where staff escort visitors in, and there is a wheelchair space beside the stage; the main bar is entered from Seel Street. The Loft is reached only by a staircase of at least thirty steps and is not wheelchair accessible.
