About this venue
The Bacon Theatre is a medium-scale venue on the Dean Close School campus on Hatherley Road, Cheltenham. Its modern auditorium seats 476 across two levels and is equipped with in-house sound, lighting and audio-visual technology.
The public programme includes touring music, tribute shows, dance and ballet, drama and family theatre, alongside productions by local youth and community groups and charities.
The theatre is available for external hire. Hirers get the licensed bar and refreshment area, front-of-house ushers and a first-aid trained duty manager at every show, with in-house technicians to support the event. Hirers can run their own ticketing or sell through the theatre's box office on commission, and a technical specification and stage plan are published for download. Further rooms and facilities across Dean Close School are let through Dean Close Venues.
