About this venue
Bakkehuset on Strøget in Ikast is a venue with a stage, balcony, own PA and lighting, projector and screen, run with a professional sound technician. The hall holds about 130 seated (floor and balcony) or about 200 standing; the front stage is 6 m wide and 2.5 m deep and the rear stage 6 m wide and 3 m deep. Its programme includes concerts, talks, stand-up, morning singing and lunch jazz. The building began as a house from 1911-12, became a library, and was converted to a music and culture house in the 1990s. It can be rented for private events and company parties (4,950 DKK per day or 6,500 DKK for a weekend, with beer bought from the house and a 1,000 DKK deposit) and for business meetings with catering packages from 199 DKK per person excluding VAT. The house normally does not hire out for its own ticketed public concerts.
