Bastard Bar

Bastard Bar has operated in Strandgata in Tromsø since 2009 and is among the most active concert stages in the city, programming local, national and international artists across genres through the whole year. It sets out to be an arena for young bands and musicians whatever their expression or genre. Its best-known fixture is the Tuesday jam, an open session that has run for fifteen years. A rotating house band of four or five musicians backs whoever turns up, at any level of experience, which has made the night a place for players to meet each other as much as to perform. The bar took Tromsø municipality's culture prize in 2014, was named the city's best bar by local media in 2016, and in 2018 was named full-time concert promoter of the year by the Norwegian association of concert organisers. It is run alongside the Misfit Bar and Blå Rock venues. Open daily from 18:00, until 02:00 on weekdays and Sundays and 03:30 on Fridays and Saturdays.
