About this venue

Båthuset Scene sits on the Vesterelva riverbank in Fredrikstad, on the Brygge promenade. The building is a converted industrial hall, and the venue makes as much of its waterfront position as of the room itself. The main hall holds 900 standing or 350 seated, and is rigged with professional sound and lighting, a 15 m² LED screen, two 75-inch screens, wireless microphones, Wi-Fi and backstage dressing rooms. Outside, more than 550 m² of riverside deck carries its own bar and lounge area, a small beach and moorings for guests arriving by boat. Something runs most weekends: concerts, revues, comedy nights, dance-band evenings and wrestling shows, plus its own festivals through the year — Oktoberfest, wine, beer and spirits festivals — and seasonal events from Christmas dinners to 17 May. The venue also takes conferences and courses for 400 or more seated, and private and corporate hire, working with catering partners on everything from breakfast to multi-course menus. It was voted best drinking establishment in its town in both 2018 and 2020.
