About this venue
The Beteigeuze is run by the Verein zur Förderung des Zusammenlebens Studierender und Nichtstudierender e.V., a self-managed non-profit association under the umbrella of the Stadtjugendring Ulm and a recognised provider of open youth work. It mainly puts on concerts and is also a youth house, pub and community kitchen; it can be hired for parties and other events. Decisions are made by an open, democratic plenary every Tuesday. Musically it describes itself as very open, from hardcore punk and rock and roll to electronic music and hip hop, and it rejects any right-wing or extremist content.
The club is housed in a large container building on Pfaffenäcker by the river Blau. It closed in early 2026 for a full renovation after rodent damage found during the winter break, with several spring concerts moved to other Ulm venues; concerts at Pfaffenäcker resumed in late May 2026, and the autumn 2026 programme lists punk, hardcore, metal and deathcore bills.
