About this venue

BLÅ sits on the bank of the Akerselva in Brenneriveien, at the heart of the Grünerløkka nightlife district, and works as bar, club and concert venue at once. Its programme is split between concerts, club nights and wider cultural events. Hovedsalen, the main hall, holds 350 and is used for concerts, events, pre-production, exhibitions and markets. The riverside outdoor area is a venue in its own right: 160 seated, 250 in a mixed setup, or up to 500 for concerts, and it stays open to the public except during closed events. Upstairs is Himmel, taking 60 to 120 for concerts, talks and private events, and the bar itself handles 30 to 70. Hire includes bar and waiting staff, technical equipment, catering, furniture and entertainment as required. The venue is supported by Live Europe, Kulturrådet and the Nordic Culture Fund.
