About this venue
Tower Festival Headland is an open-air events space engineered into Blackpool's sea defences on the central Promenade, between North and Central Piers and directly in front of Blackpool Tower. It can hold up to around 20,000 people for large outdoor events and has hosted the annual Blackpool Illuminations Switch On, the Blackpool Air Show, and R-Fest, an outdoor fringe event linked to the Rebellion punk festival.
The headland also includes the Comedy Carpet, a granite and concrete pavement inscribed with British comedians' catchphrases, the 35-metre Blades of Grass kinetic sculptures, and Festival House, home to a tourist information centre, a seafront cafe-restaurant and a wedding venue.
