About this venue
Blåveis occupies two floors on Søregata in central Stavanger and combines three things: a fully-fledged record shop on the ground floor, a bar with outdoor seating, and a stage. It seats 250 across the building.
The idea behind it was to build a cultural programme around music where people with the same interest meet, argue about records, share what they know and then hear the thing played live. By day the room works as a café serving light food; in the evening it shifts to a bar with cider and cocktails alongside the concerts.
Live music is the core, with quiz nights on Mondays and Wednesdays, comedy and music bingo filling out the week. Bookings have ranged from the Stavanger rock band Colt 97 to the singer-songwriter Jonas Alaska and the comedian Kevin Kildal. The venue also takes private hire and group bookings.
Open Monday to Thursday 15:00-00:00, Friday 15:00-01:30 and Saturday 12:00-01:30; closed Sundays.
