About this venue
The brechtbühne im Gaswerk has been an interim venue of Staatstheater Augsburg since January 2019 and shows smaller drama and ballet productions to about 230 people. Parts of the old brechtbühne on Kennedy-Platz were reinstalled here, including the audience seating and ventilation. The theatre's workshops and several company offices are on the same site. The theatre lists the stage together with the neighbouring Kühlergebäude.
The venue is on the Gaswerk site in Augsburg-Oberhausen. On performance days a free taxi shuttle runs from Oberhausen station, and the Stadtwerke Augsburg car park is directly opposite.
