About this venue

Brick Street is a funk and soul venue hidden off Jamaica Street in a former mechanic's workshop in the Baltic Triangle, with exposed brick walls and a bar specialising in rums from around the world. Checkpoint Charlie's is its expanded outdoor beer garden, programming live music and DJs.

The premises hold a current Liverpool City Council licence — number 103273, running from March 2018 with no end date — which permits the performance of live music and the playing of recorded music both indoors and outdoors, the sale of alcohol from 10am to 2am and late night refreshment from 11pm to 2am, with the premises opening noon to 2am seven days a week. That indoor-and-outdoor music permission is what allows the beer garden to programme as well as the room.

The venue publishes no capacity of its own, and its former website the-brick.co.uk no longer resolves; a ticketing platform lists the room at 300, which is recorded here only as that platform's figure. Enquiries currently run through the venue's social channels.
