Hyde Park working men's club turned independent live music venue, with two 400-capacity concert rooms, a games room and a lounge bar.
Brudenell Social Club is a members' club on Queen's Road in the Hyde Park area of Leeds, founded in 1913 and now one of the best-known independent grassroots music venues in the north of England. It kept its 1950s club fittings and its cheap bar while becoming a fixture of the touring circuit - Franz Ferdinand played a notorious secret gig here in 2004 under the name The Black Hands.
The building splits into a roughly 400-capacity main concert room, a second 400-capacity concert space known as the Community Room that opened in 2017, a wood-panelled games room with snooker and pool tables that occasionally hosts gigs, and a lounge bar with a paved beer terrace. There is live music most days, cask ale from local brewers, Pieminister pies and rotating food trucks, plus an annual beer festival in January.
