About this venue

The Carl-Benz-Stadion, opened in 1994 and designed by Folker Fiebiger, belongs to the City of Mannheim and is the home ground of SV Waldhof Mannheim 07, currently playing in the 3. Liga. Four covered stands surround the pitch: the all-seated Walter-Spagerer-Tribüne (north) and Walter-Pradt-Tribüne (south) and the Otto-Siffling-Tribüne (east) form a U open to the west, where the free-standing Günter-Sebert-Tribüne gives access; the east stand and curve blocks are used for standing. The stadium has also hosted men's and women's internationals and matches of the U21 European Championship 2004. Because of noise and traffic, a 2011 agreement between the city and residents limits the stadium to 27 events a year, internationals excluded. Match tickets double as public-transport tickets in the VRN area. The Carl-Benz-Stadion tram stop is on the Theodor-Heuss-Anlage.
