About this venue
Chateau Neuf stands on Slemdalsveien near Majorstuen, just south of the University of Oslo's Blindern campus, and houses Det Norske Studentersamfund — the Norwegian Students' Society — along with its cafés, bars and performance spaces.
Storsalen is the students' main hall, an amphitheatre for 1,000, used for concerts, lectures, conferences and media productions. Betong, in the basement, is the second main stage and the larger of the two by headcount: 1,200 for concerts, DJ sets and parties, or 350 when set for seated dining.
The programme runs well beyond student life, taking in concerts, musicals, comedy, quizzes and festivals, including the STUDiO student festival.
