Checkpoint Charlie

Checkpoint Charlie opened on Nedre Strandgate in Stavanger in October 1987 and has been one of the city's best concert rooms and its defining alternative rock pub ever since. For decades the place has stood for cheap beer, a young crowd and rock'n'roll, and it has acquired enough cult standing that anyone passing through Stavanger with an interest in alternative rock tends to stop by. Beyond the concerts there is pool, football on screen, and a room built for hanging around in. The venue carries its own Songkick and Bandsintown pages and appears in touring databases as a Stavanger stop.
