About this venue
China Teatern, opened in 1928 with a Chinese-inspired design by architect Albin Stark, is Stockholm's second-largest private theatre. The pillar-free auditorium seats 1,226, with 549 on the stalls and 677 on the balcony, and every seat has a clear view of the stage. The theatre stages musicals, shows and concerts and can be hired for conferences, shareholder meetings, concerts and other events. The foyer suits standing receptions or a small fair. A passage under Näckströmsgatan connects the theatre with Berns. China Teatern is run by Oscarsteatern AB but is a separate building from Oscarsteatern on Kungsgatan.
