About this venue

Christ Church is a Church of England parish church on Malvern Road in the Lansdown area of Cheltenham. Its foundation stone was laid in 1837 and it opened in 1840 as the fifth large church built in the town. The listed building has stained glass, a gallery and an organ the parish describes as one of the best in the area. A modern church centre adjoining it houses toilets and the Harwood Hall. Alongside regular worship with a choir, the church describes itself as a venue for the many concerts held through the year. These include choral and organ concerts and externally promoted charity events such as Maggie's candlelit carol concert, ticketed separately for the nave and the gallery. Facilities include an accessible toilet, a hearing loop and limited parking in front of the church for disabled visitors. Enquiries go to the church office.
