About this venue
Cinemateket i Bergen is a non-commercial cinema at USF Verftet dedicated to preserving and communicating film history. Opened in 1993, it has grown into a broad cultural venue offering everything from new premieres to classic and rare films, with dedicated programming for children (Cinemateket Junior, Sunday screenings), youth (HUFF – Hordaland Ung Filmforening, Monday evenings) and adults, alongside thematic series, silent-film concerts, director visits, workshops and festivals.The 68-seat hall is fully equipped for 16mm, 35mm and 70mm film projection as well as 4K digital projection, with surround-sound audio, making it one of the few venues in Norway able to screen historic film formats alongside restored digital copies.
