City Square
Leeds's principal civic square, bookable from Leeds City Council as one of only three outdoor event spaces in the city centre.
About this venue
City Square is the pedestrianised civic square between Leeds railway station and the top of Park Row, ringed by the former General Post Office, the Queens Hotel and Mill Hill Chapel, and centred on Alfred Drury's statue of the Black Prince.
It is one of just three outdoor event spaces Leeds City Council lets in the city centre, alongside Briggate and Cookridge Street, and it also appears on the council's shorter list of promotional spaces. Event bookings require a minimum of three months' notice; promotional bookings need two weeks, or four where food or drink is served. It is an open public square with no permanent stage, power or covered accommodation, so productions bring their own infrastructure.
