About this venue
Cosmopolite Scene occupies Soria Moria at Vogts gate 64 in Torshov, a cinema built in 1928 to drawings by the architect Thorvoldt Astrop. Cosmopolite reopened here on 24 October 2008 after the building was refurbished.
The main hall has a large balcony; together they take 750 when the floor is cleared, or up to 550 with chairs in. There are two separate halls in the building for events.
The programme is the venue's defining feature: it runs year-round across a deliberately wide span of music — jazz, soul and R&B, fado, folk, hip hop and much else — and has long been the main Oslo stage for artists from outside the Anglo-American mainstream.
