About this venue
Stavanger domkirke stands on Domkirkeplassen in the middle of Stavanger and is the oldest cathedral in Norway still in continuous use, dating from the twelfth century. It marked its 900th anniversary in 2025 with a programme of services, concerts, performances and processions.
The church seats around 750 and is used for concerts and cultural events through the year as well as for worship. Stavanger Konserthus programmes concerts here, and it carries its own Ticketmaster venue page.
The cathedral shares a parish with St. Petri kirke, which also runs its own concert programme — the parish's hymn-jazz series has played there — and which is listed separately in this directory.
