About this venue
Edinburgh Castle stands on Castle Rock, occupied since at least the Iron Age and today run by Historic Environment Scotland. Alongside its summer outdoor concert series and the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo on the esplanade, the castle is hired out for evening private events.
Hires run from 6.30pm and include a private viewing of the Honours of Scotland. Exclusive use of the whole castle takes 250–500 guests for a ceremony or drinks reception with access to the Great Hall, the Royal Apartments and the vaults; individual rooms — the Queen Anne Building in Crown Square, the Jacobite Room and the Gatehouse Suite — take smaller dinners and receptions.
