About this venue

Escape to Freight Island is a 55,000 sq ft food, drink and entertainment complex built inside a former freight depot at Depot Mayfield, opened in July 2020 by the team behind Manchester venues Gorilla and Albert Hall. It combines a rotating cast of street-food traders (including Voodoo Ray's, Madre and Baratxuri) with multiple bars, a Ticket Hall stage for live music and DJs, a Plant Room tropical bar, and seasonal takeovers including a winter ice rink and roller disco. It draws 10,000–15,000 visitors a week at a maximum capacity of around 3,000.
