About this venue
The Everyman Theatre on Regent Street is Gloucestershire's principal producing and receiving theatre. It was designed by the Victorian theatre architect Frank Matcham and opened in 1891. Much of the building has since been rebuilt, but the auditorium keeps largely its original form and now seats 670.
Alongside the main house, the Everyman runs The Irving Studio, an intimate flexible space seating up to 60. The programme covers touring drama, musicals, family shows, comedy, music and a weekly jazz series in the studio, and the theatre reports more than 800 performances a year across both stages. It also runs youth and community participation work and an education centre.
Touring companies can request the main stage and studio technical specifications and stage plans from the stage door team. Matcham's function room, the Directors' Lounge and the Irving Studio are also used for corporate hospitality, meetings and receptions. The Everyman is a registered charity.
