About this venue

Festiviteten is Haugesund's concert hall and theatre. It opened on 7 February 1986, replacing the old Festiviteten restaurant and banqueting building that burned down in 1981, and until 2019 it also housed Haugesund Teater, founded the same year the hall opened. Hovedscenen, the main stage, seats 511 and is classified as an A-stage. The theatre café doubles as a foyer stage seating around 200 and is used for smaller productions, stand-up, concerts and seminars, and there is a third, intimate stage for about 100. The main stage has hosted the Amanda Prize on several occasions, first in 2006, and the Sildajazz festival programmes concerts across all three stages each year. The building also works as a course and conference venue.
