Flytårnet Fornebu

Flytårnet Fornebu occupies a former Fornebu airport facility that once housed motor, electrical and radio workshops for the airport. Owned by Bærum municipality, the site has been redeveloped into a cultural hub while preserving its aviation heritage. It houses Bærum Kunsthall (art gallery), a library, a car museum and the Fornebu history museum, alongside roughly 100 artist studios and workshops, a music school, an art school, a dance studio, cafés (Café Amelia, Papirfly bar) and a community radio station (Ordentlig radio). The complex runs year-round community programming, including weekly children's activities, quarterly community events (Torsdagsporten) and open artist-studio days, and its buildings — including the neighbouring Varmesentralen and Gateway Studios (Hangaren) — have hosted professional television productions such as Norwegian Idol, The Voice and Skal vi danse (Dancing with the Stars).
