About this venue
Folken has been the students' culture house in Stavanger since 1988 and is the city's best-known concert stage. It sits on Løkkeveien, works across three stages, and books international, national and local artists across every genre.
Storsalen, the main hall, carries most of the programme and takes anywhere from 50 to 600 depending on the event. It is established enough in Norway and Scandinavia to be a natural stop on touring routes. The house received 1.1 million kroner from Kulturrom towards a new PA in Storsalen.
Downstairs there is a bar and café on the first floor, with a weekly quiz, and the house works with the University of Stavanger to put student performances on its stages.
