About this venue
Folkteatern is a regional theatre (länsteater) at Olof Palmes plats in Gothenburg, run by Folkteatern Västra Götaland AB and funded by Region Västra Götaland. Its four stages host newly written drama, classic plays in new forms, dance, experimental music, poetry, film, performance, literature, talks and debates, with performances most evenings. The building was originally the stage of Folkets Hus on Järntorget, and the theatre has had its own ensemble since the late 1950s. The house also contains Restaurang Folk, a restaurant and wine bar that is open Tuesday to Saturday evenings and runs live music, DJs and other events. Tickets are sold online and at the box office; the theatre's own programme is the main use of the stages and no room-hire page was found on its site.
