Førdehuset

Førdehuset opened in 1976 and was expanded in 1996; its main hall (Storsalen) was rebuilt and reopened in 2011. The building totals about 17,500 m² of indoor space in central Førde and is run by Sunnfjord kommune, combining Kino Førde (cinema), Førde bibliotek (library), the municipality's culture administration, a sports hall with three handball courts, and a swimming hall, alongside dedicated performance halls (Storsalen, Teatersalen, Festsalen, Lisjesalen and Utstillingssalen). It hosts touring theatre (including Riksteatret), concerts, conferences, courses and is one of the main venues of Førdefestivalen, Norway's international folk music festival.
