Gleis 44

Gleis 44 grew out of a City of Ulm initiative to revive the Dichterviertel and occupies an old railway building on Schillerstraße. On more than 2,000 m² it brings together studios, workshops, club culture, a beer garden and rooms for workshops, talks and concerts, with the aim of enriching Ulm's cultural scene as a socio-cultural centre. Since October 2025 it has been run by the non-profit association Nix als Kultur e.V., which describes the current phase as the last two years of Gleis 44. Its formats range from club nights and raves (including the house Kollektiv Schillerstraße playing techno) to club concerts that give the dancefloor to local bands, "Entgleisung / Klassik im Gleis" classical concerts with a grand piano on the dancefloor, flea markets, exhibitions and political talks. The autumn 2026 programme includes club nights with guest DJs such as Dominik Eulberg.
