About this venue

The Gloria opened as a cinema on 30 November 1956 and the building dates from the same year. Today it is one of central Cologne's best-known stages for concerts, comedy, theatre, readings, parties and festivals, and the house points to past appearances by Oasis and Coldplay as well as recurring events such as the WDR Ladies Night, the Cologne Comedy Festival and a full carnival programme. The hall is used seated, part-seated or standing depending on the event, and can be hired. Because of the age of the building the house notes that it does not fully meet current accessibility standards; details are on its accessibility page.
