About this venue
Göteborgs Stadsteater is the city's municipal theatre, housed on Götaplatsen. The theatre building has four stages: Stora Scen (about 600 seats, rebuilt in 2002), Studion (about 180 seats, Sweden's first chamber stage, opened in 1936 for new drama), Lilla Scen (just over 70 unnumbered seats, a permanent stage since the 2020 rebuild) and the Foajébar stage, used mainly for lunchtime theatre, talks and quizzes. The company also runs Backa Teater, a separate theatre on Hisingen with its own address and record. The box office is at Götaplatsen 4, and the theatre has a restaurant, guided tours and a group-booking scheme. No room-hire page was found on the theatre's site; the stages are used for its own programme.
