Grandhotel Cosmopolis

Grandhotel Cosmopolis, run by Grandhotel Cosmopolis e.V., describes itself as a social sculpture in action that combines artistic freedom with social responsibility. People arriving in the city, artists, activists, asylum seekers, neighbours, students and travellers share the house. Around 50 to 60 asylum seekers live there in accommodation managed by the Government of Swabia, alongside guests and artists. The house runs a café and a programme of concerts and evening events in the middle of Augsburg. Every Thursday an open jam session with live music and food takes place in the Souterrain, with a fire in the beer garden from October. Other regular events use the Le Grand seminar room. The website also invites outside groups to propose their own events.
