About this venue

Kulturhuset Gregers occupies the old fire station at Grønnegata 70 in the centre of Hamar. It is organised as a voluntary, non-profit association and describes itself as a significant national club stage and a regional meeting place, well used by the town's students; it runs around a hundred concerts a year and makes a point of giving local artists a professional stage. The building holds a bar and the concert room, Gregers Live, with space for roughly 400, a fixed stage and a full sound and lighting rig, plus a large sunny terrace in the back yard. Gregers Live — a separate voluntary association — looks after the concert hall, the running of events and the technical equipment, promoting some shows itself but more often working with other promoters, and pre-selling tickets through Vipps. The rooms are hired out for anything from twenty people up to about four hundred: concerts take around 400 standing or 200 seated, conferences and seminars about 150 in cinema rows, and dinners up to 120 at tables. There is a screen and projector, wi-fi and TV screens, and anything beyond the house inventory can be brought in. Gregers has been putting on concerts for more than 25 years. It opens Thursday and Friday from 20:00 to 02:00 and Saturday from 13:00 or 14:00, with service until 01:30. The age limit is 18 on Thursdays and 20 on Fridays and Saturdays; the Saturday afternoon concerts at 15:00 have none.
