About this venue

The Grieg-Begegnungsstätte is a museum and meeting place for the composer Edvard Grieg in Leipzig's Seeburgviertel. It occupies the first floor of an 1874 building that once housed Edition Peters, one of the leading music publishers of the early 20th century. Grieg was close to its head, Max Abraham, and played his newest works for him in the music salon. Founded in 2005, the centre puts that salon at the heart of its programme of concerts, lectures, music salons and readings by Norwegian authors.
