About this venue
Haubitz Hall sits on top of Odderøya, Kristiansand's old fortress island, minutes from the city centre and surrounded by sea and open ground. It occupies two former military buildings: Salongen, an officers' mess put up in 1918, and Låven, a barn built by German forces in 1940. The main hall was once the fort's cinema and machine hall, and the venue trades on that industrial and cinematic character rather than hiding it.
Salongen is the concert room, modelled on 1920s Paris cabaret clubs and holding only 40 people — a limit that has not stopped a string of leading Norwegian artists playing there. Låven and Haubitz Hall itself take larger functions.
The venue handles concerts, conferences, team building, weddings, anniversaries, kick-offs and summer parties, with catering and a bar it bills as Norway's largest gin bar, and professional AV throughout.
