HEART - the Headingley Enterprise and Arts Centre - is the community, enterprise and arts centre for Headingley, run by the community for the community. It opened in 2011 in the refurbished and extended former Bennett Road primary school, a project of Headingley Development Trust.
The building holds eight hireable rooms, from the 102 sq m Shire Oak Hall down to small meeting rooms, and hosts classes, workshops, concerts, weddings, community meetings and corporate events. Three gallery spaces are given over to rotating exhibitions by local artists. Other occupants include Assembly Bar & Kitchen, the centre's café and bar; Tiny Boo, a soft-play room for pre-schoolers; and Pulse, a co-working space. Hire pricing is tiered, with discounts for community groups, charities and statutory organisations.
