Hope House
Bar, listening room and hireable space in MAP Charity's Grade II listed Hope Foundry on Mabgate, and the long-standing home of the Cosmic Slop parties.
About this venue
Hope House sits inside Hope Foundry, a Grade II listed building on Mabgate dating from 1812 that has housed MAP Charity's alternative education programme since 2007. The venue runs as a bar, listening room and rentable space, open to the public from 5pm to 11pm Thursday to Saturday.
It is best known as the home of Cosmic Slop, the long-running late-night party built around a hand-built sound system, which fundraises for MAP. Late events on Friday and Saturday run until 4am, and the room also hosts album launches and other one-off gigs.
