About this venue
Ibsenhuset is the cultural centre for Skien, named after Henrik Ibsen, who was born in the town. It is the home stage of Teater Ibsen and handles concerts, theatre, conferences and private functions.
Dovregubbens hall is the main auditorium, seating up to 800. Peer Gynt-salen seats 250, and Terje Vigen — also called Klubbscenen — is the black box, seating 80. Peer Gynt and Terje Vigen can be opened into one another to make a single conference room for up to 270, or 350 in theatre seating.
Across the building, events run from intimate gatherings of 50 people up to 1,300.
