Islington Mill

Islington Mill is an artist-led arts complex in a Grade II listed six-storey Georgian cotton mill of 1823 at 1 James Street, Ordsall, Salford. Islington Mill Arts Club was established in 2000 with studios across four floors, a large open space on the fifth floor and an attic space on the sixth, and the site is now home to over 100 resident artists and collectives across the main mill and its adjacent engine houses. It programmes club nights, gigs, exhibitions, workshops, yoga and wellbeing classes and communal dinners, and has been the main hub of the Sounds from the Other City festival since 2005. The complex extends into the neighbouring Regent Trading Estate on Oldfield Road, where Unit 2 holds further artist studios and a hangar exhibition space.
