About this venue
The Jazzclub Augsburg is run by the non-profit association Jazzclub Augsburg e.V. to promote jazz and jazz musicians in the Augsburg region. Its own club is a basement venue fitted out in period style in the city centre, with room for about 100 guests. It has digital lighting and sound set up by the club's sound engineer, its own concert grand piano, a Fender Rhodes and a drum kit.
The club runs three formats: concerts by selected groups across the main jazz styles, the auxburg jam sessions on Tuesdays with members and visiting musicians, and the Listening-Bar, a jazz-kissa record night with a DJ and a vintage analogue hi-fi held twice a month. Concerts and jam sessions alternate through the season, with occasional cabaret. The club also presents some concerts at other venues, such as Kulturhaus abraxas. Musicians can apply to play through the club's booking address.
