About this venue
The Jazzclub Karlsruhe e.V. traces its story back to the years after the Second World War and marked its 50th anniversary as a registered club in 2019 with a festival and a book. After decades in borrowed spaces, it opened its first venue of its own in 2023, a converted former cinema in the Kaiserpassage, celebrating with a two-day opening festival. In 2025 the SWR used the club as a set for a Stuttgart "Tatort" episode.
The programme runs to concerts several times a week: jazz from local and touring bands, soul and krautrock-inflected nights, the regular JazzSession where professionals and advanced amateurs jam, workshops for young and amateur musicians, and an annual jazz festival. A small jazz bar in the foyer is open during concerts. The club is also let for afterwork parties, conferences and film shoots, with modern light and sound and a cinema-format projector and screen.
