Jazzstudio Nürnberg

The Jazz Studio Nürnberg is a jazz club founded in 1954 and run as a non-profit association. Its concert room is a vaulted cellar beneath the castle on Paniersplatz in the Burgviertel, opened in December 1954 after renovation that autumn. Over the decades it has presented young talent as well as regional and international stars, and it received the APPLAUS award 2024 in the category best live music venue. The club programmes concerts several nights a month, covering contemporary modern jazz, swing, piano trios and avant-garde jazz. It is about ten minutes' walk from Rathenauplatz or the Hauptmarkt, or by bus 37, 46 or 47 to Maxtor; the Maxtorhof underground car park is nearby.
